SiouxperCon is forever thankful to the creators who took a chance on us at the beginning and when those early guests return, everything feels “right”. Our friend Phil Hester will be making his return at SiouxperCONLINE.
Phil Hester has been writing and drawing comics since the dawn of time. He has drawn Kevin Smith’s Green Arrow, Mark Millar’s Swamp Thing, Warren Ellis’ Shipwreck, Robert Kirkman’s Ant-Man, as well as notable runs on Nightwing, The Flash: Season Zero, Batman Beyond, and many more. He currently draws Jeff Lemire’s Family Tree at Image.
Phil has written Wonder Woman, The Darkness, Deathstroke, Future Quest Presents: Birdman, and his co-creations The Coffin with artist Mike Huddleston, and Firebreather with artist Andy Kuhn, which became an Emmy-winning feature on Cartoon Network. His recent writing work includes Stronghold for Aftershock with art by Ryan Kelly, and regular features for both Titans Giant and Swamp Thing Giant at DC.
He wrote and drew The Wretch, which was nominated for an Eisner Award for Best New Series in the 90’s and was recently collected in a deluxe omnibus by Omaha Bound Press.
Phil will be participating in two panels facilitated by the Wednesday Comics crew. There will be a Q and A session with Phil and he and Ryan Cody will be talking about their successful new book Family Tree, so be sure to submit questions you would love to hear Phil answer.
Phil is taking two commissions for SiouxperCONLINE. These will be on a first come/first serve basis.
